To my fellow Brunswick Rotary Club members, I hope all of you are enjoying our Maine summer and making time to spend with family and friends. It has been a great start to our new Rotary year and many of the annual change-over activities are well underway. Thank you for trusting and supporting me as I serve as our club president for 2024 - 2025 year! The month of July started off with a fantastic Games on the Mall! If you haven't seen the photos on our club site and Facebook group please take a moment to check them out. We had a huge turnout of Rotarians from our club volunteer and dedicate hours of their time to make the event run smoothly. The public turnout was impressive with one of our largest crowds ever! Thank you to everyone who helped in advance and on the day. As always, our club meetings so far this month have had excellent talks from community members and club Rotarians. Please check out our Club website for the running list of upcoming speakers. In addition to good talks, we've also had good food with volunteers stepping up to bring meals and offer lunch during our noontime meeting - thank you to those dedicated club members! From a club administration standpoint, I am working now to schedule board meetings that will start in August. Special thanks to our board of directors and officers for dedicating additional time each month to oversee out club. On the finance front, Fred and I getting our financial house in order and working on access to our bank accounts and finalizing our 2024-2025 budget. We will have more to share next month. So what's next you might ask? Well one of my priorities this year is communication so I plan to make a habit of sending this President's update monthly - please let me know what you like, dislike, or want more of. In addition, we are fortunate as a club to be approaching our 100th year celebration, so I am currently accepting nominations from club members willing and interested in being part of the committee that will plan and oversee that work. Please let me know if you are interested. I will be bringing draft committee structure and names to our August board meeting. I hope to see you at a meeting later this month, around town, or at one of our volunteer events. Thank you for your involvement with our club! Finally - I want to publicly and frequently thank Kyle for his service as president this past year.
